Mrs. Debbie Garinger, Principal
Mrs. Garinger possesses over 43 years of experience in public education. She began her career as a second grade teacher in New Caney ISD in the Houston area. She joined Spring ISD in 1979 where she taught for six years, then served as an assistant principal. In 1989 Mrs. Garinger was named to her first principal position. She served in that position for twenty-three years in Bryan ISD, New Braunfels ISD, McKinney ISD, and Alamo Heights ISD. Since retiring in 2017, Mrs. Garinger has served in interim positions in Dripping Springs ISD and most recently, as the interim principal at Alamo Heights High School.
Mrs. Garinger earned a Bachelor of Arts in education from Arizona State University and a Master of Education in Administration from Sam Houston State University. She and her husband Keith have three children and ten grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, shopping, and spending time with family.

Mrs. Sheri Remore, Associate Principal, Curriculum & Instruction, 9th-12th Grade Students Bes-Car
Sheri Remore has been at Lake Travis High School since 2006. Additionally, Mrs. Remore is an LT alum and is proud to be a member of the LTHS faculty and Lake Travis community.
Mrs. Remore attended Texas State University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. She received her Master's degree in Teacher Leadership from Lamar University and continued her education there to receive her principal certification in 2016.
Mrs. Remore and her husband, James, are happy to call Round Rock their home. They have three children, McKinley, Ryleigh, and James, all of whom attend Lake Travis Elementary. The Remore family enjoys visiting family in and around the Austin-area, going to the lake, and watching all kinds of sports.

Mr. Mason Whitfield, Associate Principal, Facilities, Campus Operations, & Discipline, 9th-12th Grade Students (A-Ber)
Mason Whitfield was born in Metairie, Louisiana. A transient childhood brought him to Texas, England and the Netherlands all before he graduated from high school. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Baylor University and began his teaching and coaching career in 2005 at Morton Ranch High School in Katy. Mason married the love of his life in 2007 and together they have two beautiful little girls, Dallis and Bobbie. He received his Master’s Degree in Administration from Letourneau University in 2012 and became the head coach of the soccer team at Cinco Ranch High School in 2014. He and his family moved to Lake Travis in 2019 where he was a member of our history department and soccer program.
After seventeen years in the classroom, and on the soccer field, he has hung up his cleats for a chance to improve the lives of students in another facet. He has a love of learning and a desire to make a difference in the lives of students. His wife Meagan is a yoga instructor in the community and his two daughters are avid dancers at Body Lab in Spicewood. When he is not on campus, he is coaching club soccer, woodworking or finding new ways to spend time with his family.

Mr. Adam Waddell, Assistant Principal 9th-12th Grade Students (Cas-Fra)
Adam Waddell has proudly served in public education for the last eleven years. He has spent his career as a social studies and special education teacher, while also serving as a football, track, and softball coach. Prior to joining LTISD in 2023 as a special education teacher and coach, he was in the DFW metroplex serving in a few different school districts. He is grateful to serve the students and staff of Lake Travis High School.
He spent his childhood in Rowlett, TX and then went on to the University of Arkansas where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He then attended the University of North Texas and earned his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership.
Mr. Waddell is married to Sierra, a grant writer and wonderful mother to his three children. In his free time, he enjoys watching any sporting event he can, reading a good book, grilling, and working with his hands

Julie Haney, Assistant Principal, 9th-12th Grade Students (Fre-Jed)
Julie Haney has served communities in public education for 24 years. Her career has involved leading campuses in developing technology-rich learning environments, curriculum development centering around conceptual understanding and inquiry within the International Baccalaureate Programme, and mentoring new teachers at both the elementary and secondary levels. Prior to joining Lake Travis ISD, Mrs. Haney was a district technology specialist, classroom teacher and department chair in the Career & Technical Education (CTE) department, and most recently served as a high school Assistant Principal in Round Rock ISD.
Mrs. Haney was born in Chicago, Illinois where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education from Concordia University. She later earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from Walden University and completed the Educational Leadership program at Texas State University.
Mrs. Haney has two children who attend the University of New Mexico and Austin Community College. In her free time, Mrs. Haney enjoys watching football, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family and pets.

Ms. Sandra Surdy, Assistant Principal, 9th-12th Grade Students (Jen-McB)
Ms. Surdy has been an educator for 15 years. She was a classroom social studies teacher for over 10 years in both New York and Texas. Five of those years were as a US History, US Government, and AP US Government teacher at Lake Travis High School. Prior to becoming an Assistant Principal, she was an Instructional Coach at Hays CISD and Corpus Christi ISD. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland and a Masters of Art degree in Secondary Education from Texas State University.
Ms. Surdy has two children who attend Baylor University and her husband, Jason, is a pastor in the United Methodist Church. Ms. Surdy enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and reading.

Dr. Fela Mathy, Assistant Principal, 9th-12th Grade Students (McC-Pot)
Dr. Fela Mathy is celebrating her 24th year in education as an Assistant Principal with Lake Travis High School.
Dr. Mathy was born in Dallas, Texas and spent her childhood and adolescent years in East Texas, graduating from Tatum High School. She began her post-secondary education at Kilgore College and was a member of the world-famous Kilgore College Rangerettes dance team. Dr. Mathy completed her undergraduate studies and received a Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of North Texas. Later, she earned her Master of Education Degree, as well as her Doctorate of Education Degree in educational leadership, from Dallas Baptist University.
Prior to joining Lake Travis ISD, Dr. Mathy served in the Lovejoy ISD (Lucas, TX) for 17 years. She held a variety of positions, including Educator, Drill Team Director, Fine Arts Department Head, and most recently, Director of Fine Arts. Prior to her time at Lovejoy ISD, she spent five years teaching U.S. History, Dance, and directing the Dance Team at Plano West Senior High School.
In her free time, Dr. Mathy enjoys gardening, reading, traveling with her husband, Greg, and spending time with her dogs, Yogi and Easton. She is a mom to daughter, Kynan, and a “bonus mom” to Rachel and Michael.

Ryan O'Donoghue, Assistant Principal, 9th-12th Grade Students (Pow-Sz)
Mr. O’Donoghue began his education career in 2005 as the assistant band director for both Hudson Bend and Lake Travis Middle Schools and has been with LTISD ever since. From that time until 2022 he served in a variety of teaching and leadership roles at HBMS, including head band director, UIL Academics coordinator, and Fine Arts department chair. He has a passion for fostering student accountability and ownership of the learning experience.
Mr. O’Donoghue received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Florida State University in 2004 and a Master of Education in Administration from Lamar University in 2021. He and his wife of eighteen years have three children and a labradoodle. In his free time, he enjoys live music, traveling, and camping with his family.

Stuart Foreman, Assistant Principal, 9th-12th Grade Students (T-Z)
Mr. Stuart Foreman received his Bachelor of Science as well as his Masters in Educational Administration through Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. Mr . Foreman has over 30 years of experience in education, and in addition to administration assignments, he has taught high school English as well as Construction and Welding! Mr. Foreman was the head Powerlifting Coach at Hays High School for seven years and most recently the head Tennis coach at Johnson High School in Buda, Texas. He has also coached football, soccer,and track and loves to attend sporting events at all levels.
Mr. Foreman and his wife, Jennifer, are both educators and proud parents of three grown children who reside in the Austin area. Mr. Foreman is a native Canadian who loves watching hockey and getting home to family and friends when possible. He and his wife love to travel and recently visited Scotland and Ireland this summer.
