Meeting Day/Time: Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 4:20-5:30

Meeting Location: M215

Speech and Debate consists of the study of argumentation and rhetoric development on diverse environmental, social and political topics through multiple formats of competitive debate. Students are taught how to form arguments and listen critically as well as express those ideas in a constructive and efficient format. LTHS Speech and Debate enables students to compete in NSDA and TFA tournaments all over the state of Texas and beyond. From competitions at the University of Texas to Harvard, students of Speech and Debate refine their skills in events like Congressional Debate, Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Policy Debate, Public Forum Debate, Extemporaneous Speaking, Original Oratory, Informative Speaking, interpretation events, and more. Speech and Debate helps you become more well-rounded and confident when speaking in front of a crowd.
