Inclement Weather Protocol for Graduation at Cavalier Stadium
Prior to Gates Opening at 7:00 pm:
In the event the ThorGuard weather siren is activated due to lightning in the area, guests outside Cavalier Stadium should seek immediate shelter in their personal vehicles. If personal vehicles are not available (ie, spectators arrived by LTISD/Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Lakeway shuttle), guests should seek immediate shelter in the Lake Travis High School cafeteria. Please note, the school cafeteria will only be open if lightning has been detected in the area.
After Gates Open or During Graduation:
In the event the ThorGuard weather siren is activated due to lightning in the area, graduation will be suspended until an ‘all-clear’ has been received. All guests should exit the stadium in a calm and orderly manner. The Lake Travis ISD administration and LTISD Police will be on site to assist guests. Guests should attempt to seek immediate shelter in personal vehicles.
If your vehicle is not available or inclement weather prevents access to your vehicle:
- Guests who parked off-site may go the the Lake Travis Cavalier Activity Center or Lake Travis High School Cafeteria (enter through the main doors of LTHS). Guests in the CAC will be supported by Mr. Stuart Foreman and Dr. Fela Mathy. Guests in the Cafeteria will be supported by Ms. Julie Haney and Mr. Adam Waddell.
- Guests who are in wheelchairs may go into the weight room in the Lake Travis Women's Field House. Guests will be supported by Jonathan Coates and Tracey Griffith.
- Graduates will go into the Lake Travis High School to the classroom where they lined up for graduation. Graduates will enter through the PAC doors where they will be supported by Mr. Ryan O'Donoghue and Ms. Sandra Surdy.
Once the weather is no longer a threat and the ‘all-clear’ has been received, guests may re-enter the stadium and graduation will resume.
